During his youth Johny Antony had one dream to get into films. And to pursue this dream, at the behest of Director Joekuttan,he packed his bag and went to Chennai after his pre degree. After a struggle of almost one year he got his break to assist Thulasidas for 'chanjattam'. He was an associate director for around 10 films, before `an independed director with the mega hit film 'CID MOOSA'.

He started his career as an assistant director. He shot to fame with his very first film CID Moosa, It was a complete family entertainer and turned out to be a grand hit. The major winning factor in CID Moosa was that Johny Antony could keep up the comedy thread till the end of the film. He got full support from Dileep who produced the film apart from being the hero. This was followed by Kochi Rajavu - another hit from Johny Antony with Dileep and Kavya Madhavan in lead roles.

Johny Antony is undoubtedly among the hitmakers is malayalam cinema. He gained valuable experience by working for about a decade as associate to senior directors. He always believe that a commercial film should always ensure good returns to the producer. He always works with a missionary zeal.
