Johny
Antony, a well known director in Malayalam, debuted with the
movie 'CID Moosa' in 2003. As a director, he has a particular
style, appealing to the masses. He mainly gives importance to
comedy and family oriented subjects. He always believe that a
commercial film should always ensure good returns to the
producer. He always works with a missionary zeal. His right
dedication has earned him rare distinction of having created
hits in all his attempts.
Each
movie of his has a subtle moral to convey. Rajasenan's favourite
hero in the Malayalam film industry, is Dileep it seems.
Together they have brought out various hits with themes mainly
aimed at all type of audiences. The films produced by this team,
are all time entertainers. Some of the best examples are ‘CIDMoosa',
'Kochirajavu and thuruppugulan. A native of Changanachery,
Kottayam johny says he had always s strong dreams of becoming a
director since childhood. It is talented directors like
JohnyAntony who can do their bit and help the Malayalam film
industry overcome the dearth in good movies and save it from
going downhill. We wish him all the luck in his future
endeavors.

The basic plot of the movie is quite simple .
Dilip(Sahadevan)is an unemployed youth who's ambition is to
be police officer. His dreams ,however, are shattered when he
is declared unfit for the force by his brother in
law(jagathi)and Ashish vidhyarthi.Hence he decides to take
sweet revenge by setting up his own private investigation
firm .By sheer good luck he manages to crack some
sensational cases and becomes a favourite in the squad. Add
to this a few songs,some funny moments , a few James-Bondish
gimmicks and that irrepressible Salim Kumar and voilà you
have CIDMoosa. Riding on the huge success of Meesamadhavan ,
this venture by Johny Antony and Dilip has become a big hit
as well .A good family movie with a lot of moments to laugh-
that's CID Moosa

When ex-convict Surya Narayana Varma aka Unni (Dileep),
steps out of Central jail after serving a five year
sentence, he is met by his family who whisk him away to
Chennai, away from his blood-thirsty enemies. At the Chennai
Law College, he finds himself amidst two rivals, the college
hero Shiva and bad boy Muthu. Shiva’s sister Meenakshi (Rambha)
falls in love with Unni; it is time for a flashback. Back
home he was a law college student in love with medical
student Aswathy (Kavya).Aswathy lives with her maternal
uncles, one of whom has an eye on the vast property she has
inherited from her late parents and plans to get his son
married to her. But Aswathy has other plans and attempts to
elope with Unni.In the ensuing scuffle, Unni stabs one of
Aswathy’s relatives and is sent to prison for five years.
Back in Chennai, under the belief that Aswathy has been
married off, Unni gets engaged to Meenakshi. Aswathy sends
an SOS. He comes back to Kochi. Meenakshi's father, a nasty
politician, joins hands with Aswathy's relatives to bump off
Unni.Dileep does not fit the superhuman image, but is his
best in the few comic scenes. Harisri Asokan chips in as
Unni’s trusted sidekick Komalan. Rambha and Kavya add
glamour to the proceedings.

As expected, Mammootty is here again as the super human
hyperactive maverick, in all colors, fighting, throwing his
legs to two songs, trying to be humorous and even at times
mimicking himself. The actor seems to have forgotten his age
and even his baseful voice that every portion of the film is
dubbed to feel like a farce drama.Even though the basic plot
seems to be promising, the film has lost the tempo in the
second half, cluttered to become a star show. Script by
Sibi.K.Thomas - Uday Krissna lacks luster and is even
presented with less believability. But the festival moods
all through and added masalas will definitely bring in good
numbers of takers which is evident before all release
centers now. All together, it is an out and out Mammmootty
film - with the rest of the casts ranging from Sneha,
Innocent, Kalashala Baabu, Jagathy Suraj, Harishree Ashokan
and Cochin Haneef having not much to offer. The film’s music
department by Alex Paul and Kaithapram is without any flavor
delivering two un-hummable songs in the irascible lyrics.
